Study a key, scale, or chord

Set the musical context first, then shape the fretboard view around what you want to examine.

Open Controls.
Choose the key, then choose a scale or chord.
Set the tuning and string count you want to view.
Adjust the visible frets, note or degree labels, root highlighting, accidentals, and CAGED options as needed.

Build a progression and follow its chord tones

Use the sequencer to hear a progression and see how its notes relate to the fretboard.

Open the sequencer and create a progression or load a preset.
Set the tempo, time signature, loop, and count-in options.
Start playback or move through the chords.
Use the progression overlay to highlight the chord tones for the chord being explored.

Use audio, the metronome, and practice modes

Hear the material, work at a chosen tempo, and keep practice progress on the device.

Audio previews and playback can be adjusted with volume, note length, strum speed, strum direction, reverb, and delay controls. The metronome provides a steady tempo.

Practice modes can store attempts, correct answers, streaks, average response time, and session settings locally on your device.

Why don't I hear audio?

Raise your device volume, check Silent Mode, and confirm that audio is enabled in fr3t.app. Then review the playback controls for the feature you are using, including volume, note length, strum speed, strum direction, reverb, and delay.

Why are the notes or chord tones not what I expected?

Confirm the selected key, scale or chord, tuning, string count, accidental setting, and note-versus-degree labels. Also make sure the area you expect to see is inside the visible fret range. For a progression, confirm the progression and overlay settings as well.

Why did a shared link open a different setup?

Use the complete, unedited link. A fr3t.app share link can include tuning, key, scale or chord, visible frets, and display options. If part of the URL was removed or changed, create and share the link again.

Why is my practice progress missing?

Practice data is stored on the device and app installation where it was created. It does not sync through a fr3t.app account. Check that you are using the same device and installation. Deleting the app can remove its locally stored practice data.

How do I reset fr3t.app?

Delete the app from your device to remove its locally stored settings, sequencer state, and practice data. This can be permanent, so use it only when you intend to reset the app's local state.
